During a street brawl, a shy and underappreciated milkman Burleigh Sullivan (played brilliantly by Harold Lloyd), bends down when it is about to take a punch, causing accidentally that whoever receive is the current world champion Middleweights boxing, Speed McFarland (William Gargan) which completely falls ko, which will make the audience believe they are facing a new future star of the ring.
Trying to save the situation, Gabby Sloan (Adolphe Menjou), the current manager of the champion, decided to promote a "Tiger " Sullivan in a series of rigged bouts, with the only aim that, through a final battle, McFarland regain lost prestige and show who the real champion.
